I have three general projects that I work on with any regularity. I write cyberpunk and dark modern fantasy, leaning toward gothic horror, however I've also dabbled into "classic" fantasy, Lovecraftian Horror, and basically whatever happens to interest me at the time. I enjoy mixing genres and influences and experimenting with the unusual. I'm also a voracious reader who's been influenced by many different writers, and I firmly believe that is the main reason why I'm able to write.
Every November, I do take part in National Novel Writing Month. I've completed Nano two out of the three years I've participated, though I still haven't decided what to do with the (still unfinished) baby novels.
At some point in the future, I may divide this section up so that each of my projects has their own page.
My current projects:
- The Darklore Chronicles: My main project, what will hopefully become a series of novels. Dark modern fantasy with horror overtones, could also probably fall into the up and coming genre of urban fantasy. Imagine a world very much like ours, but with one major difference- magic exists in an underground society controlled by a few powerful humans who keep the secrets of magic to themselves to maintain control over the rest of the world. The main character is Jerramere Black, a young woman who stumbled into this secret world unaware, and has been changed by it...
- Clockwork Angel: Stand-alone novel. Light cyberpunk with some psychological horror worked in. A work in progress, some of the chapters can be found on my writing Livejournal.
- Devil's Carnival: Supernatural adventure that I wrote for Nanowrimo 2006. It's been shelved for the time being in favor of other projects. The main story concept of Devil's Carnival was supernatural creatures banding together to save the world from an evil god about to awaken from eons of slumber...not the most original idea but it was a lot of fun to write.
